Mixed Media Illustrative Painting, Wildlife, "REINDEER SKELETON" The Art of Nature, Fine Art by Mindy Lighthipe

Every semester I take my students to the Florida Museum of Natural History. They have an amazing collection of skulls in the Mammalogy department. For this drawing I drew this Reindeer skull. The specimen was from a reindeer that was kept in the Miami Zoo. I was able to find what their hoof prints looked like and was able to reconstruct the head from the skull. The paper is 300 lb watercolor paper that is hand torn for a deckled edge.
