Birdwing butterflies are some of the largest and most colorful butterflies in the world. They got their name because some can be as big as birds. This beautiful green and black butterfly is a male. The females are much larger and are brown, earth tones.

The Bobcat or Lynx rufus is native to the USA. This skull is part of the collection at the Florida Museum of Natural History. The challenge with this drawing was getting the mouth to stay open while I was drawing it. This is on 140 hot press watercolor paper with torn/deckled edges.

Every semester I take my students to the Florida Museum of Natural History. They have an amazing collection of skulls in the Mammalogy department. For this drawing I drew this Reindeer skull. The specimen was from a reindeer that was kept in the Miami Zoo. I was able to find what their hoof prints looked like and was able to reconstruct the head from the skull. The paper is 300 lb watercolor paper that is hand torn for a deckled edge.

This drawing is the underside of a Fox skull. At first glance it appears to look like an alligator. It actually is the top part of the skull, flipped over and what you are seeing is the auditory meatus which is the bone structure for the ear.
